Priming and Painting

Whether you want a new garage door, driveway gate, side gate or another timber product, you’re likely wanting to elevate your building and improve the overall kerb appeal of the property. The colour you choose is a big choice. After all, it can either stand out, creating a striking feature that lifts the overall kerb appeal, or it can help camouflage the structure, for a more understated look.

Here at Juke’s Timber Solutions, we offer painting for our timber products, using quality materials and exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. Our exterior paint system creates a second-to-none coating with a practical yet beautiful, durable finish that preserves the longevity of your wooden product and eliminates the ongoing maintenance costs.

Why Is Spraying Better Than Traditional Brush Application?

Spraying paint has many benefits over traditional brush application. It offers a superior, smoother finish without the visible brush marks, providing more even coverage over the wood grain, grooves and joints, which is typically difficult to achieve with a brush.

The results of spraying are a smooth, professional-looking finish to improve the overall appearance of your gate, garage door, or timber structure. Carried out in our dust-free, temperature-controlled booth, this avoids dust, bugs or rain from ruining the fresh wet paint, which is a common issue when you choose to paint a wooden structure yourself outside.

A more even coating also creates better weather resistance, extending the lifespan of the painted surface, and ensures there are no weak spots for water to enter and cause damage.

Our Priming Process

When our timber structures are primed, they receive two coats. Our priming process includes knotting to prolong the time frame that resin will begin oozing through the paint and leaving brown stains. Properly priming wood ensures maximum coverage and long-term durability for a professional finish. A primer will also seal porous surfaces, preventing uneven absorption and improving paint adhesion.

What Paints Do We Use?

We use Sikkens paints, well-known for their longevity and durability. The advanced formulations of these paints enhance the natural beauty of the wood, whilst offering lasting protection against the elements. Durable, microporous and flexible, these finishes will also resist peeling and cracking.

All of our products will receive two coats of paint for a durable and long-lasting finish.

What Colours Do We Offer?

Your home is unique, and your timber products should reflect that, which is why we offer a wide range of opaque paints. This provides a bespoke look that integrates with the rest of your property, or gives that eye-catching pop of colour to make your home stand out.

Using RAL colour codes gives you over 2,000 colour options, so you can personalise your home to suit your personality and overall aesthetic. We can also match colours from ranges such as Farrow and Ball and Dulux, to ensure you receive the perfect finish.

To supply your RAL colour of choice when you’re ordering with us, simply tick the ‘Priming and Painting’ option, and then enter your RAL code, and we’ll match it.

Frequently Asked Questions About Spraying

Yes, we can match almost any RAL colour with our industrial-grade spray coatings.
The initial investment of a sprayed finish may be slightly higher due to the specialised equipment and booth time. However, the finish lasts significantly longer than a hand-painted finish, which makes the investment worthwhile for our customers.
Yes, easily. Factory-sprayed doesn’t mean permanent. When you eventually want to change the style, the surface can be recoated with any high-quality paint.
The finish will never look plastic or fake. It will be perfectly smooth to touch, yet follow the natural texture of the timber. You’ll have the durability of a modern coating whilst still enjoying the natural beauty and grain of the wood.
When you paint a wooden product outdoors, it can take around 24 hours to be touch-dry. However, whilst the wood dries, dust, pollen and rain can ruin it. When a product is painted in a booth, it is kept away from particles that could ruin the finish, allowing the paint to cure from the inside out and creating a more durable finish.
Yes, by using the RAL colour matching system, we can spray your timber product to complement existing architectural features on your property.
Yes, we ensure 360-degree coverage, specifically sealing the end grain and undersides of gates and doors. These areas are most prone to water damage, so sealing them will prevent rot.
